Hey there, mamas (and any dads sneaking a peek—welcome!). Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, where we chat about the real, messy, beautiful chaos of raising kids while trying to keep our own sanity intact. As a mom of three energetic girls, I’ve learned that some of Read more
Hey, mamas! Can we just take a moment to acknowledge how incredible (and sometimes overwhelming) it is to be a mom? From sleepless nights to decoding toddler tantrums, we’re all doing our best to give our kiddos the world. But what happens when you notice something about your little one’s Read more
As summer is starting to wind down…I can’t even believe I am typing that seeing that I feel like summer JUST started…it is fun to reflect on what you have been able to do and what you would like to do before the start of school. I know for us, we like parks, swimming, the zoo and crafting.
It is mid-summer and there are endless things to do…but somehow I hear “I’m bored…” come from my kids’ mouths. Seriously??? We just finished with what seemed like an endless winter and now that we are free to head on outside without wrapping ourselves up, we find it difficult to find things to do. Well…seek no more…I have the endless list of (6 NO FAIL) “I’m bored” activities for all ages!
Now that our state has lifted some of the restrictions from the COVID-19 quarantine, I feel like we are able to get back out there and reintroduce life once again to our kids. Don’t get me wrong, we aren’t back in full swing by any means, but we are able to push past some of the barriers that have held us back since COVID-19 struck. Here are some things my family has done or is planning on doing this 2020 summer season.
Summer is in full swing in our household but we are still not enjoying all we could be due to the Coronavirus quarantine. The zoo, museum, parks, and pools all have restrictions (and most aren’t even open yet) which makes it impossible to enjoy as it is intended.
As the summer months start to wind down and summer is coming to a close, the bucket list of ideas is starting to dwindle and the pressure of the start of school is setting in. I get it. I try to squeeze anything out of every second of the day…knowing it will soon come to an end. As the time draws near for school shopping and getting back into a routine, here are a few more ideas to entertain the kids these last few weeks.
The winter weather has FINALLY cleared, the flowers have bloomed and the days are a bit longer. What a relief! Being a momma during the winter months can seem long and tireless but being a momma in the summer when days are longer and playing is rougher can be even more trying.
SUUUUUMMER!!!!!!!
Who doesn’t LOVE the warmer weather, the sandals coming out of the closet, the cookouts, the windows open in the house and car and all of the festivals going on? Spring and Summer are my two FAVORITE seasons followed closely by Fall. There are merely endless opportunities to get moving, be active, and enjoy the weather.
Our family turns the TV off and we PLAY. We play outside, inside, we have play dates, we explore local parks, etc. In fact, I have had NO PROBLEM keeping my littles busy over Summer break. I want to share the many ideas that you too can implement into your summer routine.
