Hey listen, I have 3 young kids and not a ton of time, so when I can find an easier way of doing something or a way of doing something that makes life less complicated with a 6.5 year old, a 4 year old and a 10.5 month old, I am ALL for it. I also like sharing these hacks with anyone and everyone to make their mommy and daddy life easier. I have 5 hacks every mom and dad should know about.
Make-Shift Painting Smock
When getting the painting supplies out, simply grab a grocery store plastic bag, fold it in half the long way and cut the bottom off of it. Simply open it up and slip it over your child’s head. It makes the perfect smock for your little one when painting. NO MORE paint that you simply cannot get out of their clothes! I should mention that this should be done for a child old enough where they would not place the bag in their mouth or over their mouth. Please make sure you monitor them while using the bag so it doesn’t become a choking hazard. I used this technique with my 3 year old (now 4) and never had a problem but younger than that may have an issue).
The Suction Cup Bowl Hack
Are you sick of your little one always spilling their bowl of cereal, soup, etc.? Then this hack is PERFECT for you. Get your plastic bowl and also 2 suction cups. Cut the bottom off of the suction cups and hot glue the suction cup to the bottom of the plastic bowl. You are now able to suction the bowl to the table and eliminate spills.
No More Spills Popsicles
I don’t know about you, but every time I give my child a popsicle, the juice ends up running down their arms, leaving them red or blue or green, etc. Use this hack to eliminate this mess. Take a cupcake wrapper and simply slide it onto the bottom of the popsicle, keeping the juices from running.
Phone Number Bracelet
Have you ever gone to a crowded place and worried that if your child got lost they wouldn’t know what to do in the moment despite your several attempts to teach them? Every momma’s hand should have raised at that question because as many times as we teach our kids what to do in a situation like that, the reality is that they may have a brain fart in the moment. If your child is too young to know your phone number, make a phone number bracelet that they can wear. Don’t put your child’s name on the bracelet, just your phone number. If they get lost, they can find a mommy with several kids and have her call you. BRILLIANT!
Putting on Your Shoes
Every morning it is rush to get out the door and I am always helping my two oldest out their shoes on the right foot. So, here is your solution…find a sticker, cut it in half, place each side of the sticker on the inside of each shoe so that the sticker, when put back together, will make the complete sticker again. GENIUS!
